YMCA Listen Up Youth Summit, 2020
Are you a young person in Year 8 or Year 9?
Or perhaps you should be in Year 8 or 9 but are currently not engaged in education?
Raise your voice and make a difference!
When: Wenesday 25th November, 9.30am - 11.30am
In 2019, we hosted our first Youth Summit and every young person who attended told us that mental health was important to them. They also said that they wanted to keep talking about mental health and that there should be more chances to do this.
With the challenges of 2020, bushfires and COVID-19, now, more than ever, mental health is so important! We're pleased to announce that we'll be holding a Youth Summit focusing on mental health again in 2020!
YMCA's Youth Summit aims to elevate the voices of young people about the issues that are important to them, including mental health. This year, the Listen Up Youth Summit will provide a half day experience for young people to get involved, connect with other young people, listen to amazing young people share their experiences and participate in break out workshops of their choice after well-being and self-care. The aim is young people will leave with new skills, ideas, knowledge and ways to look after their own mental health and that of the those around them!
With the support of the Buninyong and District Community Bank, the Y is working with City of Ballarat, headspace Ballarat, Ballarat Community Health, Centre Multicultural Youth, Highlands LLEN, Ballarat Health Services, Ballarat & District Aboriginal Cooperative and Higher Resolves to support some amazing young people to plan, lead, present and facilitate the Listen Up Youth Summit 2020. We hope to see you there!
